We provide a dynamic, challenging, interdisciplinary environment where supportive faculty will push you to excel. Joining our school gives you access to hundreds of advanced social science courses, extensive professionalism and skills-development opportunities, 40 cutting-edge labs, huge material collections, field schools and teaching opportunities.
Our graduate students participate in major collaborative projects through our many research centers, and join a large dynamic community of scholars in allied fields.
These are times of great change in higher education, and graduates need to be able to adapt to this as they plan their careers. Our graduates get great jobs because they combine innovative ways of doing important scholarship with a thorough and sophisticated understanding of how to succeed as social scientists in the academy and beyond in this new era.
The School of Human Evolution and Social Change hosts field-based programs in archaeology, medical anthropology and community health. Led by noted faculty, these field schools provide hands-on learning experiences that build skill sets, increase knowledge and create collaborative ties. See our field school page here.
Our school has several student-run graduate clubs that are very active on campus and in the community.
Go here for more information about how to become involved.
