Early Start At The School Of Human Evolution and Social Change

About Our Program

  • Meet and engage with scholars bridging the life sciences and social sciences in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, the Center for Global Health, the Center for Bioarchaeological Research, Center for Archaeology and Society, Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity, Teotihuacan Research Laboratory, the Center for Evolution and Medicine, and the Institute of Human Origins.
  • Take a trip to the Phoenix Zoo for an up close look at primate behavior and animal ecology.
  •  Private Screening of Rise of the Warrior Apes followed by roundtable discussion with Ngogo Chimpanzee Project co-Director.
  • Take a field trip to the Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve. Visit this archaeology museum and 47-acre Sonoran Desert preserve, home to the largest concentration of Native American petroglyphs in the Phoenix area.


Our Early Start team

During Early Start, you’ll work with dedicated faculty members and advisors who are eager to help you succeed at ASU. You’ll get to know your professors and mentors on a personal and professional level so you’ll be more confident asking for help during the school year.

 During Early Start, you can expect to be busy each day throughout the entirety of the program. And we promise — you won’t be sitting and falling asleep in a classroom all day!
