Campus Life

As a student in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, you’ll join our community of scholars on Arizona State University’s largest and most historic campus in Tempe. The campus offers a number of residential living communities, imaginative building structures for classroom environments and subtropical landscaping with palm trees over 70 feet tall. From studying in the Noble Science Library to browsing world-class fine art venues, there’s an endless supply of fun-filled sights and events to enjoy on the Tempe campus.

The ASU Tempe campus is home to a wide variety of residential living communities, athletic facilities and stadiums, academic support services and cutting-edge laboratories to make sure you get the most out of your college experience. You’ll also have a chance to showcase your Sun Devil spirit at various points of pride, including Cady Fountain, Old Main, University Bridge, Palm Walk and the Desert Arboretum Park.

Live on campus in your residential college

When you study in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, you are a part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. We encourage all our first-year students to live in a residential community within the CLAS Residential College. Each of our communities are designed to foster student success and help you meet fellow Sun Devils who share your academic interests. You’ll also enjoy a short commute to classes and academic support services.

Get involved and elevate your college experience

The benefits of student involvement are numerous, so why wouldn’t you take advantage of all the co-curricular and extracurricular activities ASU has to offer. With more than 1,000 clubs, 300 study abroad programs, 75 Greek-lettered organizations and a variety of intramural sport opportunities, there’s so much for you to do. Getting involved outside the classroom will show future employers that you’re a well-rounded student who can balance time effectively. Plus, you’ll make new friends while relieving stress and taking a break from studying.
