Meskerem Glegziabher

Biography
Meskerem Glegziabher earned her doctorate and master's in sociocultural anthropology with a graduate concentration in gender and development from Michigan State University in 2016. She received her bachelor's in English literature with a minor in anthropology from Wake Forest University. In her role as director for inclusion and community engagement at SHESC, Glegziabher applies her qualitative research training and her background in intersectional feminist thought in building sustainable relationships with local communities and community based organizations, particularly those historically marginalized and underrepresented, by collaborating on educational outreach, community-centered & -serving research, and events. Within the School, she is working collaboratively to develop and support an inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging and community for students and faculty from diverse backgrounds and identities by creating culturally affirming programs and events.
