Mahir is a PhD student in Environmental Social Science program as Fulbright scholar. He has spent the past several years between Istanbul and London before arriving in Phoenix, and worked in a EU-Horizon 2020 funded research project, focusing urban sustainability transformation potentials and strategies of Istanbul, Shanghai, and Helsinki.His general research focus on multi-level governance, specifically what urban governance capacities that local governments likely need to inhabit to increase chances of fostering sustainability implementations in cities.
