Biography

Mahir is a Fulbright scholar and PhD candidate in Environmental Social Science program.  He is trained as an interdiciplinary scholar and holds degrees in Political Science (BA), International Relations (MA), and Environmental Sciences (MSc). He has spent the past several years between Istanbul and London before arriving in Phoenix, and worked in a EU-Horizon 2020 funded research project, focusing urban sustainability potentials and strategies of Istanbul, Shanghai, and Helsinki. His general research focus based on urban climate change governance and capacities in the major cities of the US, Turkey, China and Northern Europe.
