James Baxter is the digital communications specialist for the Institute of Human Origins. They work on the long-term communication and outreach strategy, and create the print and web assets for the Institute.
These assets include the Institute website, in additional to the new K-12 outreach website, Ask An Anthropologist, which is a sister site to ASU's wildly popular and long-lived biology website for kids, Ask A Biologist.
Drawing from a background in fine arts and humanities, James strives to produce designs that are communicative, dynamic and culturally competent. James approaches each project — from websites, to magazines, brochures and illustrations — with a steady focus and attention to detail. They previously worked for 8+ years as a designer and developer in the School of Life Sciences Visualization Lab, and are primarily self taught in web design and programming.
