All in-person museum programs, events and tours, including public and school tours, remain suspended until further notice.
Field trips are available for school groups grades K-12.
The field trips are scheduled for 1 hour and 45 minutes and include an interactive tour of the museum, nature preserve, petroglyphs, mesquite bean grinding with manos and metates, and a take-home activity. Reservations are required, at least four weeks in advance.
Our knowledgeable educators will introduce your students to the following subjects:
- Prehistoric Native Cultures of Arizona
- Rock Art
- Desert Ecology
Due to space limitations, our field trips are limited to groups of 100 or less. We can accommodate larger groups over multiple days.

Act One partnership and Title I schools
Field trips for Title I schools are offered at discounted rate of $1.50 for grades K-8, and $2.50 for grades 9-12.
Field trips to the preserve can also be scheduled through our partnership with Act One. Every year Act One covers all but $1 of admission costs per student and provides funding for transportation for over 43,000 students in the state of Arizona to attend art-based field trips. Home school groups
Home school programs are available for home-school organizations of 10 or more throughout the year. Home school programs include a guided tour of the museum, nature trail and petroglyphs, and a take-home craft activity.
There is a $50 no-show or cancellation fee for groups that cancel less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled tour.
