The School of Human Evolution and Social Change has one of the most outstanding anthropology programs in the world. What sets our program apart from most other universities is that it is aimed at making a difference – both in science and society. We expect our students to become the leaders of the next generation, to work toward a more just world and a better understanding of the problems we are facing, and to do so with passion and intelligence.” ~ Sander van der Leeuw, Director, School of Human Evolution and Social Change

Anthropology, the study of humans in their many contexts, is the most holistic and diversified field within the social sciences. At Arizona State University, the study of anthropology embodies many disciplines that are not typically found actively working in tandem on most university campuses.

This approach is evident in a new program that allows students to address health challenges with a very broad and engaged global understanding. The bachelor’s degree in Global Health will draw on influences such as genetic and biological factors, migration, social and economic conditions and more to equip graduates to assist in resolving health issues at the city, state and international levels.

At the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, there is truly something for everybody, whether you have a mind for science and math or a heart for humanities and social science. Here, there is no need to narrow your passions.
