Merbs earns additional award for identification of Revolutionary War hero's remains
May 9, 2008
The awards are racking up for professor emeritus Charles Merbs of ASU's School of Human Evolution and Social Change. Merbs attended a Capitol Hill ceremony earlier this year to receive the 2008 Pulaski Award for his efforts to identify the remains of Revolutionary War hero Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski. Now, the American Council for Polish Culture has chosen Merbs to receive its Distinguished Service Award for "outstanding contributions to the study of human remains, especially those of General Casimir Pulaski."
The award will be bestowed on Merbs in Williamsburg, Virginia, this August during the council's annual convention. The American Council for Polish Culture is a non-profit cultural and educational network that comprises 25 affiliated Polonia organizations in the United States.
