Ph.D., Biometry, Cornell University
SHESC Theme: Biological, Social and Cultural Dimensions of Human Health
Field Specializations: Biostatistics, Mathematical Epidemiology
Regional Focus: International
Contact: Gerardo Chowell-Puente, MC 203R
Research:
Gerardo Chowell-Puente's work lies at the interface of epidemiology, mathematics, modeling and statistics. For the last few years, his emphasis has been on the connection of models to data to estimate epidemiological parameters and test public health policy.
Research Projects:
Culture, Health and Environment in Urban South Phoenix
Influenza in Mexico
Teaching:
Chowell-Puente co-teaches Introduction to Global Health with Professor A. Magdalena Hurtado.
