About the Museum
The Museum of Anthropology at Arizona State University features changing exhibits on archaeology, human origins, society and culture.

The exhibits reflect human efforts over time to adapt to—and create systems of meaning within—changing natural, social and political environments. Museum exhibits involve the collaborative efforts of student, faculty and community and, as such, reflect a wide range of interests and topics of study. The museum benefits from its affiliation with ASU's Museum Anthropology Program, as well as its access to the research collections and expertise of the School of Human Evolution and Social Change (formerly the Deptartment of Anthropology), the Archaeological Research Institute and the Deer Valley Rock Art Center.

The museum aims to share with audiences the many ways in which cultural expression finds form, as well as to highlight creative and adaptive strategies pursued by human communities in different places and in different times. It is our belief that anthropology can provide invaluable insights into the ways in which people on the ground both experience and respond to change-lessons that are necessary in an increasingly global and complex world.

Community
Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Community Participation
The ASU Museum of Anthropology, in collaboration with the Calaca Cultural Center Inc., seeks participants to create unique altars for our Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival Exhibit. Our Call For Entries for Día de los Muertos 2008 will be available summer 2008.
